MARCH OF ROBOTS 2021- Week 01

This year, I am participating in march of robots with a twist: all of my robots will be entirely modeled in Adobe Medium Vr! These render and overpaints are the result of the first 7 days. They follow the locating, mining and analysis of a rare metal destined for electronics and sci fi applications.

1.A drill bot is in search of rare metals in the cold reaches of our planet, where raw nature pushes back the reach of mankind. This bipedal robot serves also as a hazard shelter for the human partner during harsh storms or eruptions. The gigantic drill pierces the permafrost and the ground bellow with long ''carrots'' of soils and stone.

01 has found a nice vein of our rare metal and it is the turn of 02 to crawl inside and explore the cavern in search of the main deposit. Its four legs are equipped with mobile tracks that help it navigate the rough terrain. 02's backside is composed of a tripple-head drill that obliterates any obstacle in its way, constructing the extraction tunnel.

02 has cleared the way, the deposit is now accessible! 03 goes into action: reinforce the tunnel and build the rail at the same time. The two gigantic arches on its back reinforce the walls in two stages: A) placing metal studs by pressing them with immense pressure on the walls and B) riveting these studs using two cannons with high-pressure rivets into the rock directly. An operator supervises the operations using his remote control and ensures the safety of future extraction operations. (36 RECTIONS=TOP)

The mine now fully operational, samples of local metals and stones are sent to the on site laboratory for further analysis. A robot assistant takes part in the exercise and sometimes operates the analysis machines alone. Its human interface shows its joy in the work!

The battery of test is extensive to assure the highest quality of ore for the high tech applications it will have. The robot arm 05, fixed on the celling rail across the lab, is autonomously making every test on a sample core collected from every concentration detailed by 04 and the scientific team. Its head is equipped with an extensive array of sophisticated tools as well as a big personality!

In addition to extracting metal, the mine's services allows us to explore the distant past. These `` carrots '' of earth taken from several hundred meters deep are studied by 06 and geologists. The data collected is then used to understand the evolution of the climate and the geology of our planet.

The sealed boxes filled with the rare metal are then shipped across the harsh landscape aboard an automated multi-ton transporter. These metal behemots roam the remote areas at full speed, piercing the night mist like land trains.
